Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Pear Printer LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our Pear Printer mobile application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account or contact us for support, we may collect personally identifiable information, such as:

  • Email address
  • Name (or Initials used for labeling)
  • Account creation date, modification date, and trial start date

B2B and Team Sharing Information

If you join a team or business group by claiming a unique employee access code, your B2B Administrators and authorized managers will have administrative access to certain elements of your user profile to facilitate team management and settings enforcement. This includes visibility of your account email address, your designated role within the organization, your assigned manager, and your custom print settings overrides (such as selected font configurations, label orientation, and language options).

Usage, Telemetry, and Device Data

To ensure app stability and monitor printer compatibility, we collect device metrics (device model, operating system platform, and app version) and connection details. We also sync your layout preferences (label dimensions, selected fonts, text alignment, bold formatting, bilingual preferences, and application themes) to your account. When you connect a physical label printer, the printer model name is logged anonymously to monitor hardware compatibility.

Voice Audio and Transcription Data

Our Service utilizes your device's microphone to provide speech-to-label functionality. All voice audio is processed locally on your device. We do not transmit, record, or store raw voice recordings on our servers.

Print History and Dictation Transcripts: To provide core features like printing history, re-printing labels, and logging edits, we save your text transcripts, extracted label details (items, dates, quantities, and label types), any edits you make, print status flags, and your device model to your private account database.

Improvement Program Opt-In: If you explicitly opt-in to share improvement data, we may aggregate and analyze the text transcripts and label details from your account to train and improve our speech-to-label and natural language processing (NLP) models. If you do not opt-in, your printed label data is stored strictly for your own personal history and is not used to train or improve our models.

System Diagnostics and Trial Verification

To maintain security, keep the app stable, and prevent abuse, we collect:

  • Login Logs: Device model and timestamps of login events to monitor account security.
  • Crash Logs: Diagnostic stack traces and error messages to help us fix bugs.
  • Trial Prevention Ledger: A unique device identifier and the initial trial start date. This prevents users from signing up for multiple free trials on a single physical device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To manage your connected printer configurations and Pear Marketplace activity
  • To process text transcriptions to improve our models (only if explicitly opted-in)
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To provide customer support
  • To monitor the usage of the Service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues
  • To enforce free trial limits on a per-device basis
  • To sync settings and layout preferences across your devices

3. Data Retention

We retain your Personal Information (such as your account email) only for as long as necessary to provide you with the Service or until you request account deletion. Opt-in transcription data is entirely anonymized upon collection and may be retained indefinitely to continuously train and improve our AI models. When you request account deletion, we fully purge your profile, print history, login logs, and B2B team mappings. Device trial records are retained to enforce our per-device trial limits.

4. Data Transfer

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

5. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (such as transport layer encryption, secure database access tokens, and strict Firestore write-validation rules) to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Service Providers and Subprocessors

We employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third-party processors are bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations and are strictly prohibited from using, sharing, or retaining your personal data for any purpose other than providing these service integrations on our behalf. These include:

  • Google Firebase: Used for secure user authentication, real-time database cloud hosting, and backend logic workflows. For more information, please see their Privacy Statement.
  • RevenueCat: Used to manage and verify in-app purchases and subscription entitlement statuses. For more information, please see their Privacy Policy.

7. User Rights & State-Specific Disclosures

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have specific statutory rights regarding your Personal Data, including the right to access, obtain a copy of, correct, restrict processing of, or request the permanent deletion of your information. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us or use the account deletion features provided within the application settings.

California & US State Privacy Rights: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws, we provide the following disclosures:

  • No Sale or Sharing: We do not sell your personal information, nor do we share or transfer your data to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect, process, or disclose sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation, biometric data, or trade union memberships) for purposes other than to provide the core labeling services.
  • Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you in pricing, service quality, or availability for exercising any of your statutory privacy rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
